The Terneuzen City Government Delegation of the Netherlands Visited SITC

On April 19 morning, 2008, the Terneuzen City Government Delegation of the Netherlands visited Shanghai Information Technology College. This ten-people delegation includes Mayor of Terneuzen, leaders from ROC Westerschelde and ROC Zeeland and government officers. Students Delegation with two teachers from ROC Westerschelde also met and welcomed their government delegation.

Mr. Du Mengyong, General Secretary of SITC, delivered a warm welcome speech to our guests from afar.

Mr. TOINE HUIJSMANS, president of ROC Westerschelde and chairman of the delegation, said with a deep feeling that we started to discuss cooperation between two schools four years ago right in this conference room. I remember there were a lot of schools at Sino-Holland Vocational Education Forum and our school decided to cooperate with two, i.e. Shanghai Information Technology College and Health School Attached to SJTU School of Medicine. After years of smooth exchange and cooperation, it proves quite well that we really did a right choice and I hope our cooperative project will be more successful in the future.

Then Mr. JAN LONINK, Mayor of Terneuzen City, delivered a warm speech. He said that the cooperation between SITC and ROC Westerschelde of Terneuzen City has been so successful that it even makes many other schools in the Netherlands to admire, which can be considered as our joint efforts. Every time when I come to SITC, I could always see new development here. I hope the two schools could learn from each other, promote cooperation and enhance friendship between the two countries.

Mr. Du Mengyong, General Secretary of SITC, introduced recent development of SITC and process and results of the exchange project with ROC Westerschelde, which was warmly welcomed by Government Delegation and Students Delegation. Both sides exchange views on future cooperation and communication.

After that, accompanied by school leaders Mr. Du Mengyong, Mr. Yang Shiming and Mr. Xu Yinwei, Dutch Delegation visited our Open Training Center of Information Technology in Shanghai City and Video-Audio practical training room. They carefully observed Multimedia Studio, Virtual Reality Production Room, Network Master Control Room, Gem Processing Room, Gem Identification Room, Electrical Control Room and other labs. Then Dutch guests went to our Open Training Center of Modern Chemical Engineering. They spoke highly of the combination of new ideas and advanced technology on brand new practical training facilities on which those Dutch students couldn’t help touching and trying to operate. The other spot the delegations want to observe was the HSEQ Lab co-constructed by SITC and Dutch Company named VAPRO. The opening ceremony of this lab, namely ‘VAPRO-SITC Safety Practical Training Center’ was completed on March 19, 2008. The Dutch guests required details of this training center, interested in layout and laboratories put in use.

In the afternoon, loaded with Sino-Dutch friendship and expectation on cooperation, the Terneuzen City Government Delegation of the Netherlands completed its successful visit in SITC.
